When You're a Lyrics Person
You can't tell people "listen to the lyrics," because that's assigning homework. Instead, you just have to get people in the door—it's on the song to do the rest.
Either that, or you can do your own deep dive into the words—I've thought for a while about doing a feature called The Close Read where I get granular about lyrics that have long pinballed in my brain cavity.
